TDI’s vision is to make a positive impact in the market it operates in, to achieve a sizable and respectful Return On Investment (ROI) for its investors and to grow the company to become one of the leading businesses in the tourism industry in Yemen.

The market and business
TDI is a Tourism Business Investment Services and Business Management Company. As the Yemeni government interested in encouraging foreign investment in general and tourism in particular, its General Investment Authority have prepared very attractive, already planned, tourism projects, ready for investments in various parts of the country.

Core product offerings
TDI searches for good tourism business investment opportunities (hotels, restaurants, car rentals, transportation, parks, resorts etc.), prepares feasibility studies / Business Plans and present them to the investors.  Once project approved for investment, TDI will establish and register the project, (in the name of the investors, under the Yemen Investment Authority Laws that permits foreigners to own businesses in Yemen up to 100%), and manages the project on behalf of the investors.

Management team
TDI is managed by a small Core Management team of two executives:

  • The Chairman of the Board, Dr. Hamed M. Gohar, and

  • The General Manager, Dr. Farid N. Bou-Diab

Dr. Hamed Gohar comes from a 40 years of experience in Tourism and Public Relations in Yemen. He has a PhD in Hotel Management from Cornel University of New York, has a long list of achievements, among other high profile jobs, he worked as an advisor to the UN and also to the EU programs in Yemen. Dr. Hamed is currently running couple of Hotels in Sana, and is an advisor to the Minister on Tourism, and also an advisor to the Chairman of the “General Tourism Investment Authority” in Yemen.

Dr. Farid Bou-Diab, comes from 25 years of experience in the high tech industry, worked for AT&T Bell Labs, and Lucent Technologies for 20 years, has a long list of achievements, and expert with over 10 years experience in Project Management and Business Management. Dr. has a PhD in Telecom Engineering from Northeastern University, of Boston, an MBA from AT&T School of Business/George Washington University and he has completed an “Executive Management Program” at Thunderbird, of Phoenix, Arizona.
